Kurumba Maldives is the first resort opened in the Maldives in 1972. Following complete reconstruction in 2003 it has emerged as a grand resort of distinctive style and panache. Kurumba is a mere 15 minutes by speedboat from touch down.

The resort's name 'Kurumba' is derived from the coconut trees that grow here in glorious abundance. The resort 's lovingly nurtured tropical gardens include an orchid nursery. Shaded paths lead from one side of this 30-acre circular island to the other. Intimate white beaches are protected by eco-breakwaters of weathered coral.

With 180 bungalows and villas dotted throughout the island within verdant foliage only a pace or two from the beach, Kurumba Maldives offers a wide range of luxurious accommodation. The villas and rooms have wooden floors and are elegantly furnished with solid timbre furniture.

Vihamana Restaurant:  The delightful main restaurant at the Kurumba Maldives. Offers gourmet buffets for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. With a different theme buffet every night the restaurant offers all Full and Half Board guests some of the best cuisine options to choose from. Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Lebanese, Italian to name a few. Friday afternoons are Brunch by the seaside and Sunday evening a surprise thrown in every now and then. Vihamana is always a fresh experience. The Restaurant is also open to all bed and breakfast and Room only guests. Open seven days a week.

The Ocean Grill:  Located on the edge of the beach with an overwater deck offering a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean. Prime cuts of beef, fresh lobster from the lobster pond are highlights of a varied menu. All bar-be-cued to your taste in a display kitchen.
An eclectic selection of fine wines. Ideal for romantic candlelit dinner as well as special groups of 10 to 15. Lavish seafood buffet on Sundays. Open seven days a week.

The Hamakaze:  “Ocean Winds” – The Hamakaze is the Sushi Bar and Teppen – Yaki counter serving a unique style of cuisine from the Land of The Rising Sun . With a selection of Octopus, Tuna, Salmon, Ell and much more the Hamakaze serve the choicest selection of Sushi and Sahsimi. Sip on a selection of Hot Or Cold sake as the Chef creates one culinary presentation after another on the grill and on to your plate. The Hamakaze is located right next to the Ocean Grill and the Lobster pond. It is closed on Sunday.
